Titanium can be tungsten arc welded using similar techniques to those used for welding stainless steels. Protection needs to be provided to titanium weldments on cooling down to about 800°F (427°C) as well as to the molten weld puddle in order to prevent contamination by air.

Titanium alloy with the same mechanical properties as Grade 2.  0.12 % wt. addition of palladium improves corrosion resistance.
